Salmonella Peanut Scare Prompts Second HEB Recall

By February 9, 2009

A recent Salmonella contamination from products with peanuts supplied by Peanut Corporation of America caused HEB to recall one of their branded children's snacks last month. Now, they are issuing another recall.

The recall is voluntary and nobody has gotten sick, but if you recently bought any Creamy Creations Peanut Brittle Ice Cream, you are asked to return it immediately. You will be issued a full refund for the return, even if the product is partially consumed.

The action was taken only as a precaution since the recall from the Georgia plant where Peanut Corporation of America is located was expanded to include all products since January of 2007, which would include some peanut brittle used to make the ice cream.
