Normally, the news of a new line of salad dressings being sold by HEB would not inspire a blog post. On the contrary, it might inspire a yawn at the most.
But this is no ordinary set of salad dressings. These are prepared, bottled and labeled by the Brookwood Community, which is a community for disabled adults that is located west of Houston.
Buying any of the five varieties of salad dressings will help the non-profit organization by providing jobs and income for some of their residents, who would otherwise have a hard time finding employment in any economy, but particularly in the harsher one the country is currently facing.
The five varieties that will be available at 80 South and Central Texas HEB stores will be: Mesibov Salad Dressing, Sugar Free Mesibov Dressing, Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing, Honey Lime Dressing and Roasted Garlic Salad Dressing.
