Learn About DVT at UT Health Science Center Today

By March 30, 2009

You may be asking what exactly DVT is, and why you need to know about it. DVT stands for Deep Vein Thrombosis, and it can affect many people, particularly those who are overweight, elderly, have mobility problems and more.

March is DVT Awareness Month, and as part of the awareness, The Coalition to Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis has begun a "Driving to Reduce the Risks of DVT" educational campaign. The campaign involves an RV that travels to 14 cities nationwide to educate about what DVT is and assess your risk.

It just so happens that today, Monday March 30, the RV will be here in the Alamo City. Stop by the UT Health Science Center anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to visit and learn more about DVT.
