Amongst all the major Texas cities, good ole San Antonio ranks the lowest in something that we can be proud of -- unemployment.
According to Workforce Solutions Alamo, 7,700 jobs were created in the Alamo City in February, which helped the overall unemployment rate go from 6.3% down to 6%.
That was enough to give the city a lower unemployment rate than nearby Austin at 6.3%, Houston at 6.4% and Dallas/Fort Worth at 6.9%. Compare that to a national average of 8.9% and you will see just how well the city is doing compared to other parts of the country. It's a great time to be a Texan. Or at least a Texas resident.
