If you put off doing your taxes for whatever reason and now find yourself in a panic, then here is something that may help you feel better -- there is still free tax help available right here in San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Business Journal, families that make less than $45,000/year and some small business owners can still get free help filing their taxes from Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. VITA is sponsored by the City and Alamo City Coalition for Economic Self-Sufficiency (ACCESS).
You can both do a traditional filing or a rapid refund filing for those who need their refunds in a hurry. To find out if you qualify and where to get help, you can either dial 2-1-1 or log on to VITA’s Web site at www.vitasa.org.
