San Antonio Third Best Job Market in the Entire Country

By April 19, 2009

Do you need further proof that San Antonio (and Texas in general) is weathering the financial storm better than most?

Forbes Magazine, who seem to love Top 10 lists more than David Letterman lately, have declared San Antonio as the third-best job market in the country.

Though growth has been sluggish overall (just 0.5%) as of late, it is still an increase, compared to decreases across 46 out of 50 states.

Speaking of states, Texas took all of the top 5 spots in the Forbes ranking. Number one is Austin/Round Rock, no. 2 is Houston/Sugar Land/Baytown, fourth is Fort Worth/Arlington and fifth was Dallas/Plano/Irving.

These lists are in line with the good unemployment news reported earlier this month for San Antonio and the state. It also meshes nicely with the news that the local housing market is the fourth-best in the nation, with Texas once again dominating the top positions on that list.
