San Antonio Approves New CPS Conservation Plan

By May 28, 2009

City Public Service (CPS) is not kidding when they talk about conservation. In a previous blog, I told you about how CPS expects for customers to be receiving lower bills this coming month, with conservation efforts paving the way for the changes.

Now the city has approved a full-fledged conservation effort called STEP (Save for Tomorrow Energy Plan). The plan is projected to offer rebates and incentives totaling $850 million by 2020 for residential and business addresses that participate in conservation efforts.

Residential users can apply for rebates on attic, ceiling and wall insulation cool roofs, and Energy Star windows while commercial users can apply for rebates on heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment, high-efficiency lighting, and roof and window replacements.

Will you take advantage of these rebates?
