For months I have been touting how well San Antonio has held up overall in this ugly recession. I have sworn that the city is holding up better than most. Little did I know it is holding up THE best.
According to the Brookings Instition, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, San Antonio is holding up the best out of the top 100 metro areas in the US. Six key economic indicators were used to determine each city's ranking - employment, unemployment rates, wages, gross metropolitan product, housing prices and foreclosure rates.
Not surprisingly, the city opposite San Antonio that is holding up the worst during the recession is Detroit.
