What to Do This Weekend in San Antonio

By June 18, 2009

There are a TON of interesting things to do this weekend in San Antonio, so without hesitation, here is the rundown:

The Phantom of the Alamo touts itself as "A hilarious mix of musical theatre and Texas history, Phantom is a hit for locals and tourists of all ages. The play features the wonderful finale “The 13 Days of the Alamo,” where each day is portrayed through a parody of different Broadway hits." It is held Friday at The Magik Theatre at 7:00 p.m.

Also on Friday, the Carver Branch Library will have a special guest lecturer to kickoff a series of city-wide events celebrading Juneteenth. Space is very limited though, so call (210) 225-7801 for reservations.

Friday also brings the opportunity to cool off in the water while watching a movie. Splashtown presents "Eagle Eye" as a part of their Dive-In Movie Series.

Nothing to do on Saturday? Try Main Plaza’s Cine Mundo & Slab Cinema Present an Indian Film Festival! If you love Bollywood or have never experienced it before, you are in for a treat! It begins at 8:00 p.m. at the Main Plaza downtown.

And of course, Sunday is Father's Day! A special post will be put up just for that.
