Vote for Green Spaces Alliance to Win Grant

By August 6, 2009

In case you don't know what Green Spaces Alliance is, it's a community garden project that helps bring neighborhoods together to do something that not only beautifies the area and fosters community service, but is a good source of food to supplement your diet.

The project is one of ten national finalists for a $25,000 grant that would help build more community gardens in San Antonio. You can vote online at the Mark of Distinction website once a day. So why not help out and see if we can help them get that grant?

From the official press release: The Green Spaces Community Garden Network currently has 18 gardens throughout the city of San Antonio, with more to join next week when Green Spaces announces it fifth round of community garden starter grants funded by the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation, the Lattner Family Foundation, and Les Dames de Escoffier. Thousands of volunteers have supported the gardens, along with those generous funders. However, the demand for assistance in planning and building a garden is so great, that Green Spaces constantly seeks additional funding and assistance.

Let's help them out!
