There have been several phases to the huge project known as the Pearl Brewery redevelopment. One of the focuses of it has been in the food section. San Antonio seems to be attracting some culinary talent lately, and the Pearl Brewery is adding to that.
They recently hired Shelley Grieshaber, formerly the director of education of the Culinary Institute of America, to be the lead on the culinary school aspect of the redevelopment. Certified Master Chef David Kellaway is also on board will serve as Managing Director.
There are already several restaurants either open or about to open at Pearl, along with the Farmer's Market that is really taking off. No with the expansion of the CIA school and these big-time hires, it looks like Pearl is angling themselves to be a must-see culinary destination for both native San Antonians and visitors alike.
