The opening of the Pearl Farmer's Market was a huge step forward for San Antonio in terms of being able to buy fresh, local produce. Sure, you can go to your local supermarket and buy produce, but chances are a lot of it comes from Mexico, California, Florida or even other continents! Farmer's Markets allow for fresher produce straight from farms that also help keep small local businesses running.
Now, another Farmer's Market has opened, this one at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. Yes, that's right--the Botanical Gardens now has their own Farmer's Market.
This Farmer's Market also has a twist--not only will you be able to buy fruits, herbs and veggies, but a group from the Botanical Garden will be available to sell you plants to grow your own as well. This group of experts will be able to tell you how and when to plant and keep your new plants healthy.
The Market will be open every Thursday through December 9, with an open time of 8:00 a.m.
