After years of planning, scouting and negotiating, the Texas A&M San Antonio campus will finally begin construction this week.
Friday, May 10, 2010 is the date for initial ground-breaking. The campus will be located on the city's south side, which has long been under-served when it comes to education, particularly from a four-year institution as opposed to a junior college.
The campus will be at Loop 410 between Zarzamora and Moursund roads. It will have a bookstore, cafeteria, library, faculty and staff buildings and of course the classrooms. No dorms are planned at this time. For more information about the school and it's architects, see the article in the San Antonio Business Journal.
