I love both conservation efforts and a big company trying to help an under-served area of the city. Both are happening at the same time with a recently announced program from the San Antonio Water System (SAWS).
SAWS has made plans to help 200 residences on the city's East Side become more water efficient. This will happen first through an assessment of each individual home to see about things that waste water, such as leaks, faulty pipes, plumbing etc.
If anything needs fixing, a licensed and certified plumber will be assigned to retrofit the home with new items that may be needed such as water fixtures and toilets.
The effort is a part of the SAWS Conservation Makeover Program. To read more details about this project, see the San Antonio Business Journal article.
