Every Tuesday the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA) gives you the chance to partake in some free stuff that is pretty cool. Tomorrow (or today depending on when you read this) is no exception.
First, there is the public tour, which gives you highlights of whatever exhibits there might be at the SAMA at that time. It is presented by Chase. You can go on this tour for free beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Next there is sketching in the gallery from 6-8:00 p.m. This one is limited to only 20 visitors, so make sure and get there extra early to get a spot. The M.E. Hart Foundation sponsors this portion of Free Tuesdays.
Finally, there is the Curator's Choice Gallery Talk. They are hosted by museum curators and generally last about 25 minutes. This week's will be about the two oldest Japanese objects in the museum's collection, a Jomon period Earthenware Vessel (circa 3,000-2,000 BC) and the recently acquired Haniwa Figure of a Man (circa 300-600 AD).
