Fiesta San Antonio opens on Friday, April 18, 2008. On the first day of Fiesta, you can head to Alamo Plaza for the opening ceremony and take part in many of the other events held throughout the day.

The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Utah Jazz 109-80 on Wednesday to finish the regular season with a record of 56-26 - good enough for the third seed in the Western Conference.
Tony Parker led the Spurs in the victory with 24 points and 12 assists. The Spurs will open the first round of the playoffs against the Phoenix Suns at the AT&T Center this Saturday. Fiesta San Antonio runs from Friday, April 18 through Sunday, April 27, 2008. In total, there are nearly 100 events taking place in the city-wide festival. One of the favorite events of many San Antonio residents and visitors is Night in Old San Antonio.
Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA) is put on by and benefits the San Antonio Conservation Society. This year, NIOSA dates are from Tuesday, April 22 through Friday, April 25, 2008 from 5:30pm to 10:30pm each night. Visitors can enjoy ethnic food, music, dance and other activities, while learning about different heritages. Spurs Rally to Overthrow KingsTuesday April 15, 2008
The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Sacramento Kings on Monday to remain in the third seed in the Western Conference standings. Although the Kings (38-43) entered the game without a chance to make the playoffs, they fought the Spurs throughout the game. The Spurs, who trailed by six late in the fourth, rallied behind a strong effort from Tony Parker. Parker had 32 points and 11 assists for the Spurs, who won 101-98 and improved their record to 55-26. The Spurs play their last game of the regular season on Friday against the Utah Jazz. The game, which will be played in the AT&T Center, will be an extremely pivotal game. If the Spurs win, they are guaranteed no worse than the third seed. If they lose, San Antonio could drop all the way down to sixth. The 2008 playoffs will begin this weekend. The Spurs will play their first postseason game on either Saturday or Sunday.
