Each March, San Antonians and citizens across the United States honor civil rights leader César E. Chávez.
Chávez, who was born on March 31, 1927 in Yuma, Arizona, fought for social and economic justice for farm workers, leading to the creation of what would later become the United Farm Workers of America.
