Concerts Under the Stars
The San Antonio Botanical Garden continues its popular annual series of Concerts Under the Stars every third Thursday of the month this summer.
Admission to the concerts is $5. Botanical Society members receive free admission. Gates open at 6:00pm and the musical performances begin at 7:00pm and end at around 9:00pm. The Botanical Garden is located at 555 Funston, next to the San Antonio Zoo.
Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no outside food and drink are permitted. Beverages, including wine, beer, water and soft drinks, are available for purchase. Starbucks will feature tastings of their new products. Gourmet box suppers can be ordered in advance from the Carriage House Bistro by calling (210) 739-5280.
2007 Concerts Under the Stars Lineup
Thursday, June 21 – Seth Walker
Austin-based blues guitarist Seth Walker will launch the 2007 series. Walker produces an eclectic blend of hip blues with rootsy, soul-filled vocals. This outstanding guitarist has shared the stage with blues legends such as Ray Charles, B.B. King and Jimmie Vaughan.
Thursday, July 19 – Joe Posada
San Antonio native Joe Posada brings his Grammy-nominated Tejano-infused sound to the Garden in July. Posada’s progressive music mixes the sounds of jazz with Tejano and incorporates various instruments, providing a seamless multi-genre blend. Posada is a four-time Tejano Academy Award winner and was inducted into the Tejano Roots Hall of Fame in 2005.
Thursday, August 16 – Second Nature
Second Nature comes in August with a sound that combines Motown, dance and funk. This fun and talented group of musicians is sure to get you off your feet and grooving to their beat! Second Nature is a longtime San Antonio favorite, and band members perform for many events in the area.

AT&T Summer Concert Series
The AT&T Summer Concert Series is being held July 21, August 25 and September 29, 2007 at Sunken Gardens Theater.
Proceeds from the concerts will benefit the City of San Antonio’s Animal Care Services as it begins a five-year transition into a “no-kill” animal shelter.
Tickets are only $5 and available at the door. $1 surcharge is added to help keep the Sunken Gardens Theater maintained and renovated. Gates open at 5:30pm. Sunken Gardens Theater is located at 3875 N. St. Mary's St.

Saturday, August 25 - Blue Oyster Cult
The legendary band has spanned three decades. The band will be singing hits such as “Burnin for You”, “Godzilla”, “Astronomy” and the timeless classic “Don’t Fear The Reaper."
