The menu is fairly extensive for a place that is best-known for it's burgers. The nachos are really quite delicious and a great way for a group to snack while sinking a few brews on gameday. The burgers are all juicy and delicious. The french fries are hand-cut and have the skins still on, which I like but some people don't. The onion rings are hand-battered and thin. They remind me of the one's at Jim's, but not greasy and a little crustier.
The pizzas are also good and seem to be the favorite of the kids that were dining with their parents the day I went in. In fact, despite the fact that Babe's turns into something of a sports bar on gamedays, there were still lots of kids enjoying themselves. When it isn't gameday, (such as for Spurs or Cowboys games) the TVs are still on, though many times a jukebox with a wide selection of music is also available. There is also a covered patio if you wish to get away from the monitors or music.
There are very few quibbles in terms of Babe's Old Fashioned burgers, and they are fairly minor. Perhaps the only really annoying thing is that you have to stand in line and wait for a staff member to refill your drink. Allowing us to refill our own drink would be quicker and more efficient. Parking can also be a bit of a pain but only during peak hours.
Overall, this is one of the best burger joints in town.
