Guadalupe Cultural Art Center - Dia de los Muertos Festival:
Each year, Guadalupe Cultural Art Center (GCAC) puts on a variety of workshops and a festival to celebrate Dia de los Muertos.

Workshop fees are $10 each or $25 for all of the workshops. The 2007 festivities take place from October 24 - November 1, 2007.

The activities culminate in the Guadalupe Galeria festival on Thursday, November 1st from 6-8pm, where you can enjoy mariachis, puppet shoes, dance performances, music and much more.

GCAC Dia de los Muerto Arts Workshop Calendar:
  • Sugar Skulls & Pan de Muerto
    October 24 - 6-8pm
    Learn recipes and how to decorate these traditional items.
  • Paper Mache Calaveras
    Part 1: October 25 - 6-8pm
    Part 2: October 27 - 10pm-12noon
    Learn paper mache techniques to create skeletons and skulls.
  • Paper Flowers
    October 25 - 6-8pm
    Learn how to create flowers for Dia De Los Muertos altars.
  • La Ofrenda
    October 27 - 11am-1pm
    Bring food, flowers, photos, candles and calaveras to create an altar.
The events take place at Guadalupe Galeria at 726 S. Brazos.
