Hollywood Park is an incorporated city within the city limits of San Antonio. It is located in the north central area of town, with neighbors that include , Hill Country Village and Shavano Park amongst others. Being an incorporated city means that they have a city government with a limited amount of power and their own city hall and police department.
The 2000 census listed Hollywood Park as having a population of 2,983, though by 2006 that population had grown, albeit slowly to 3,238. The population is a diverse mixture of singles, families and retired persons.

Hollywood Park has been an established area in San Antonio since the 1940s, although it was not made into an actual city until December 7, 1955 after an election to allow the incorporation of the city in October of that same year.
The majority of housing in Hollywood Park is family houses. The houses generally range from 3-5 bedrooms with 2-4 baths. They are a mixture of builders and architecture with generally spacious yards. The median price of a home in Hollywood Park as of 2000 was $150,500. By 2006, that price had jumped to $191,300. The median square footage of a home is 2,053, for an average cost of $84 per square foot.
Hollywood Park is served by some of the fine schools of the Northeast Independent School District (NEISD). Elementary school-aged children will attend Hidden Forrest Elementary. Middle school children will attend Bradley Middle School. High school students attend a school according to their location within Hollywood Park. There are also many private and alternative shools within a short driving distance.
The Hollywood Park Neighbors Association serves the entire city and serves as a sounding board for residents and their concerns. There is also a Homeowner's Association, a Rock 'N Oaks Garden Club, the Welcome Basket Committee and a Hollywood Park Women's Club as well.
The Welcome Basket Committee is just what it sounds like. They gave out more than 50 gift baskets with a big hearty welcome to new families moving into Hollywood Park for the first time. The baskets include information on their new home and money-saving coupons.
The Rock 'N Oaks Garden Club meets up to discuss gardening issues and to socialize. They also host guest lecturers who discuss gardening, plant disease and many other issues.
