Sonterra is a series of subdivisions in what is referred to as the North Central Corridor of San Antonio. It neighbors another Far North Central neighborhood, the equally upscale and new Stone Oak.
Sonterra is still expanding to this day as more people move into San Antonio because of the growing amount of businesses in the area.
The Club At Sonterra is a private golf and tennis country club. To become a member, you must be nominated and sponsored by a current member of the club.

Because Sonterra has a big reputation for being a high-end neighborhood, the residents have a Homeowner's Association that is jointly run with Stone Oak in order to provide upkeep to all public areas including pools, the flying of the flags and to tend to area landscaping of public grounds.
The Sonterra/Stone Oak POA is located at 19210 Huebner Road, Suite 102. There are monthly dues that are paid to the POA by residents for the aforementioned upkeep. You also need written permission in order to make any changes to your landscaping or house.
Sonterra is served by the Northeast Independent School District, one of the best in the city, with schools that are regularly recognized for their excellence.
Elementary level schools include Canyon Ridge, Hardy Oak, Stone Oak and Wilderness Oak Elementary. For middle school, Sonterra children would likely attend Barbara Bush Middle School. For high school, most would go to Ronald Reagan High. There are also several private school in the immediate area that are options, as well.
