Sunset is a neighborhood on San Antonio's east side that is still growing with new subdivisions being built in the area. Sunset is on its way to becoming a good neighborhood in what is thought by some to be an otherwise unsafe area on the east side of town.
Sunset has specific street boundaries that include Bastrop Creek to Messenger Pass to the north, Menard to the south, Shady Meadows to the west and Keithshire Creek to the east.
The Sunset Neighborhood Association is a fees-based mandatory association that all residents of Sunset and all its areas must be a part of. Each resident is automatically enrolled as soon as they buy their lot and KB is done building their home.
Yearly fees are due at the time of closing. The fees cover the cost of landscaping and electricity for street lights in addition to funding the community newsletter amongst other things.
The goal of the Association is to keep Sunset a safe and clean neighborhood where property values will continue to be high and each street is a place where everyone is proud to call home.
Sunset Housing:
Sunset is made up mostly of family homes that range from 3-4 bedrooms and average 1.5-2 bathrooms. Roughly 13% are rentals and the rest have a mortgage. There are over 800 homes already built with a median cost of $89,560 in 2006 which is a very significant rise in property value from 2001, when the median cost of a Sunset home was a mere $62,300. The substantial rise is due to the continuous building of new homes, the influx of new families and the low crime rate in comparison to nearby Camelot and The Glen.

Junior high students will attend Pease Middle School.
