The Dominion Overview:
The Dominion is a master gated community located in an area of San Antonio often referred to as the far northwest side. It is a very upscale community of over 600 homes from different builders that ranges from small garden homes to full-blown mansion estates that will be passed from generation to generation.

It’s equally upscale neighbors in the far northwest side include Fair Oaks Ranch, Anaqua Springs and Scenic Oaks.

The Dominion Boundaries:
The Dominion is nestled in the Texas Hill Country but is still just 20-30 minutes from most of central San Antonio, including downtown. It’s boundaries are Aue Road to the north, Camp Bullis Road to the south, Camp Bullis to the east and IH-10 West to the west.
The Dominion History:
The Dominion has only been around San Antonio the 1980s, so it does not have the rich history of the older parts of town that are more in Midtown or the Southside of the city. It does however have a few things of note in its brief history.

Even though construction began on the first Dominion homes in 1983, it is well-known that people in San Antonio did not really begin to flee to the outer lying areas of town until the late 80s and early 90s. This is when the real boom of the Dominion began, and it became the place to live if you were wealthy in San Antonio.

The Dominion Residents:
As more of the historical homes in the city become re-developed and other exclusive gated communities develop in the area, the Dominion has stabilized and though the growth is not as big as it once was, it still remains one of the most sought-after communities to live in.

It is home to several local celebrities such as the professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin, Country music superstar George Strait and retired NBA legend David Robinson.

The Dominion Home Owner's Association:
The Dominion Homeowner’s Association is a membership-based club with over 1,000 members. It meets monthly and organizes such events as the annual Parade of Homes and more.

Membership fees are mandatory and help pay for such things as the 24-hr gated access and the two 24-hr security patrols that roam each neighborhood that is covered by the Dominion HOA.

The Dominion Schools:
Leon Springs Elementary, Stinson Middle Schooland Thomas C. Clark High School all serve the Dominion, which is a part of the Northside Independent School District. Many Dominion residents attend area private schools, as well.

The Dominion Country Club has been one of the most popular country clubs in the city for quite some time. It hosts an annual PGA Senior gold event and a few charity events as well. There are varying levels of membership ranging from golf-only to social-only.

The Annual Bonfire is a Dominion HOA members-only event. This event is generally held in the fall and includes free food and fun stuff for children. It is a chance to catch up with old neighbors and meet new ones. You can find out more about Dominion HOA-sponsored events and attractions at dominionhoa.com.
