Timberwood Park

From Kori Ellis, for About.com

Timberwood Park Overview:
Timberwood Park is an upscale community located in an area of San Antonio known as Far North Central. It is right at the foothills of the Texas Hill Country and enjoys some very scenic views as a result.

In fact, Timberwood Park is not in the city limits of San Antonio, which gives homeowners a tax break. Its neighbors include Stone Oak and Sonterra, both of which are master planned communities just like Timberwood Park.

Timberwood Park POA:
The Timberwood Park Property Owner’s Association (POA) is a non-profit group of volunteers that help organize meetings and foster community relations between those who live in Timberwood Park. They organize the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Picnic in the Park, Halloween Around the Lake and Christmas Lighting Contest.

You can get a full list of the Timberwood Park POA’s services, annual fees and other information here - Timberwood Park Neighborhood.

Timberwood Park Schools:
Timberwood Park offers residents the choice of either private school or some highly-recognized schools within the Comal Independent School District.

Elementary Schools include Bulverde Elementary, Rahe Primary School and M.H. Specht Elementary.

Middle schoolers will attend either Smithson Valley Middle School or Spring Branch Middle School.

High schoolers will attend Churchill High, which is a part of the NEISD or Smithson Valley High School.

Timberwood Park Attractions:
The biggest attraction in Timberwood Park is the private 32-acre park that includes a 7-acre lake, a private clubhouse that can be rented by residents, lighted tennis courts, a junior Olympic-sized pool, a 3-par golf course, volleyball courts, playgrounds, jogging trails with 14 exercise areas, saunas, locker rooms and more.
Timberwood Park Homes:
Timberwood Park prides itself on being a high-end community that is still affordable to residents who value their children’s education, want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city but also be close enough to get in and out of the city when needed or to commute for work.

The homes in Timberwood Park reflect all of these desires. Most of them are custom built by many different builders of the owner’s choosing. There are several empty lots available that future residents can buy then build on. Another great thing that makes Timberwood Park so attractive to custom builders is that there is no time limit to get the construction of your house done, unlike other planned communities.

For the existing homes in the area, many in Timberwood Park range from $130,000 to $400,000 and up. Many of these were custom built by the previous owners and have views of the Hill Country and the city of San Antonio.
