From Kori Ellis, for About.com

The 2007 Texas Cavaliers River Parade took place on Monday, April 23rd, 2007.

The Texas Cavaliers River Parade is one of the premier events at Fiesta San Antonio each year. Barges decorated with twinkling lights float down the San Antonio River while nearly 250,000 spectators look on.

Founded in 1926, the Texas Cavaliers is an organization of over 500 businesses and San Antonio community leaders that preserves and promotes the ideals for which the heroes of the Alamo died, while raising money for charitable organizations.

The Texas Cavaliers River Parade benefits the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation. The foundation in turn donates the money raised (along with generous contributions from the Texas Cavaliers members) to local children's charities in the San Antonio community.
