Dallas Cowboys Training Camp 2010 in San Antonio

Schedule and Events for the San Antonio Portion of Dallas Cowboys Training Camp

For the past few years, the Dallas Cowboys have been flip-flopping between San Antonio and Oxnard, CA for their annual summer training camp. This year, they will split their camp in half, going between both locations. Here is the schedule and info you need for the San Antonio portion of this year's camp.

Practice Prices

FREE to the public, but parking will cost you $10 at the Alamodome. There may be parking available in area neighborhoods but that will require a long trek to the Alamodome in what could be stifiling heat by the end of July. Plan accordingly, and if you plan to get near the front, go early. It's first come, first seated after they let the VIPs in.

VIP Tickets

Like last year, local radio station KXTN will be giving away VIP passes for the kickoff event on July 23rd. Please follow them on Twitter ( @KXTN) for updates as to when they will be giving away these passes. A VIP pass gets you in early with free food and drink and prime seating for the kickoff event.

Kickoff Concert and Pep Rally

July 23, 2010, start time TBA

The Cowboys will arrive here in San Antonio on July 23rd with a special kickoff concert and pep rally to be held at the Alamodome, where their practices will also take place. So far, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders have been confirmed. I will update this entry when specific players and musical acts have been confirmed.

This event is free and open to the public, however there are some VIP tickets that include some freebies available from KXTN. See the entry right above this one for that info.

Player Autographs and Merchandise

Some players may stay for a few short minutes after practice to sign autographs. In order to be one of the lucky few to get one, you will want to get there early for prime seating. The best area is generally the sidelines and end zones along the north side of the Alamodome. Generally, players sign for about 5-10 minutes and will usually only sign one item per person to get to as many as possible--so don't be greedy!

Doors generally open about 45 minutes before the start of each pratice. If you aren't already in line. you will likely miss your chance for prime seating and autographs.

There will be lots of official merchandise in tents and tables in and around the Alamodome. Bring your wallets!

First Day of Practice

July 24th, 2:15 p.m.

The first practice of camp will be on July 24th, with just one afternoon practice beginning at 2:15 p.m. Players may be available for a very short time after practice for autographs, as described in the "Player Autographs and Merchandise" section of this article.
