Built in 1968 for the first World's Fair to ever be held in the Southwestern U.S., the Tower of the Americas stands tall (750 feet, to be exact) in HemisFair Park. Even though HemisFair '68 was a financial bust, the Tower still stands today as a monument to the excitement at San Antonio being chosen for such a prestigious event.
Large elevators with windows to show you the city as you go ascend open up to an observation deck, gift shop, and restaurant. The restaurant and deck rotate, allowing you to get a complete view of the city without moving a single step.
