Spanish Governor's Palace

Called "the most beautiful building in San Antonio" by the National Geographic Society, the Spanish Governor's Palace is located in downtown and was originally supposed to protect the nearby Alamo.
Dating back to around 1722 (the exact finish date is unknown), it stands well-preserved today as an example of early Spanish Colonial architecture made of stucco. It has ten rooms and though may seem small or tame by today's mansion standards, it was a behemoth in its day and is an architectural gem.
