With the 4th of July being on a weekend this year, there are more celebrations and parties than usual. This is fortunate since so many more people will be off work to help do the celebrating. Here is a list of the best events San Antonio has to offer for Independence Day.
Friday, July 1st, 7:00 p.m. at the Frost Bank Building downtown. Click link for tickets and prices.
Get both your Jazz and your nosh on with this event that features Marion Meadows and Kyle Turner. There will be a buffet before the show starts from Chef Dwight of the Plaza Club.
Saturday, July 3-5th, Market Square downtown. Free and open to the public.
Whether the occasion be Fiesta or Independence Day, you can always count on Market Square to put on a good party. For three days, the Square will be host to musical acts such as Soundrave and Grupo Maravia. There will also be arts, crafts, food, drinks and more.
Sun, July 4, 10am – 9pm at Woodlawn Lake, 1103 Cincinatti. Free and open to the public. Each year, the San Antonio Parks Foundation puts on a great family-friendly celebration of the 4th complete with a huge fireworks display once the sun sets. There will also be a tribute to our troops. Get there early, parking is scarce and you will likely have to park in the surrounding neighborhood and walk.
Sunday, July 4th, 5:00 p.m., ends after fireworks display that begins at 9:35 p.m. Free and open to the public. Usually, Lackland was the Air Force Base to be at for the 4th. But the celebration has moved to Randolph AFB instead. Still the same fun, family-friendly atmosphere and fireworks but just a different location. Click the link for more info about the change.
Saturday, July 3-4th, celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. free with park admission A spectacular fireworks display and musical performance celebrating our Independence Day. Don't miss these exciting days of music and celebration with your favorite SeaWorld characters! Continual entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m. in Ski Stadium; fireworks displays are at 9:45 p.m. each night.
6. Fourth of July Picnic at Six Flags Fiesta TexasSaturday, July 3-4th, 12:00 noon-4:00 p.m., park ticket required. Join us in the Picnic Grove this Fourth of July weekend from noon to 4 p.m. for an All-American Celebration! Enjoy an all-you-can-eat picnic with a menu consisting of favorites such as grilled sirloin steak, hamburgers, hotdogs, grilled sausage, and various sides and desserts. Activities and games will also be available.
