The dog days of August are over, the kids are back in school--but not for long! Just days after school goes back in gear, the kids get a three-day weekend for Labor Day. It's usually the last big thing that most families do together before the holidays come, so most people want to do something special. Here are the events going on in San Antonio and the surrounding area for September 3-6, 2010. Check back often for updates as we get closer to the actual date.

Labor Day Arts and Crafts Fair at the River Walk

Located along the River Walk Extension near the Chamber of Commerce, this Arts & Crafts Show displays some of the most unique handmade merchandise available anywhere. Whether its jewelry, pottery or fine art you are interested in, you can get a head start on your holiday shopping. Urban Jazz in the Streets at The Shops at La Cantera Presents Jeff Kashiwa

ARTS San Antonio Presents: RODRIGO Y GABRIELA Acoustic-Metal Rock Guitar Duo

The Majestic Theatre is the site of this Acoustic-Metal rock guitar duo concert that is presented by ARTS San Antonio. Rodrigo y Grabiela will perform. Tickets are available through TicketMaster and start at $39.

Finding Michelangelo

A part of the ongoing sculptural arts program, the Labor Day Weekend events features the work of Michaelangelo. This is for children who are already into art and wish to expand their sculptural skills. See link for more information about how to get into this program.
