Though the Alamo City has had mostly Spring weather throughout what passes for Winter here, March is generally a month where the temps begin to click slightly upwards -- and the plants and foliage outside your window begin to show signs of life again.

Greek and Roman Family Day

Sunday, March 1, 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m.

Kids can work on art projects like Medusa masks, building a Greek temple and Roman mosaics, then play with roman army re-enactors Legion X Fretensis. San Antonio Museum of Art, 200 West Jones Avenue.

Jazz Anyone?

March 1, 4:00 p.m.

This annual cabaret-style performance by the San Antonio Choral Society is being held at the St. George Maronite Church Hall. The Society will be accompanied by renowned jazz artist Kyle Keener and the Small World Trio.

60th Annual Texas Watercolor Society National Exhibition

March 2-29, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

The Witte Museum hosts this annual event with beautiful watercolor artists from 33 different states competing for prizes up to $10,000.

The Cardinals

March 4th, 8:30 p.m.

Musicians Ryan Adams, Neal Casal, Chris Feinstein, Jon Grabof, and Brad Pemberton perform a mix of different musical styles including rock, pop and jazz at the Majestic Theatre.

Gordon Lightfoot

March 5, 8:00 p.m.

The legendary folk singer brings his act to the Majestic Theatre for one night only. Tickets range from $30-50.

Jeff Dunham

March 5, 7:30 p.m.

The hilarious ventriloquist and stand-up comedian comes to the AT&T Center with favorites like Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Walter and Peanut.

Fashiontini

March 5, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The Hotel Valencia hosts this fashion show which features jewelry, clothes, hair and makeup by local artists and boutiques.

On Screen at Artpace: Guillermina Zabala

March 5, 6:30 p.m.

The third in a trio of films selected and presented by artist Guillermina Zabala is free to the public through Artpace. The subject is the Cuban Revolution, and the running time is 140 minutes.

Dawn at the Alamo

March 6

Reverent pre-dawn commemorative ceremony honors the fallen on both sides from the Battle of the Alamo.

One Night of Queen

March 6, 8:00 p.m.

This is a tribute to the departed Freddie Mercury and the music he made with Queen, arguably one of the most famous rock bands in history.
