Beautiful Christmas light displays can be viewed in and around San Antonio. Here are some of the major light displays for your family to enjoy.

Windcrest Light Up

Nationally known, the Windcrest Light Up has been a San Antonio tradition for over 50 years. Thousands of San Antonians flock to Windcrest to view the elaborate neighborhood Christmas light displays from mid-December through New Year's Eve each year.

Driving through the streets of Windcrest is certainly a great way to see the lights. However, this season you can also take a bike tour through Windcrest. The Hill Country Bicycle Touring Club usually takes about a six mile ride through the most picturesque areas to view the Christmas lights. Call (210) 675-0538 or visit their website at www.hcbtc.org for more information.

Christmas Lights in Downtown San Antonio

More than 200,000 Christmas lights illuminate the San Antonio River Walk beginning the day after Thanksgiving.

Thousands of San Antonio residents and visitors enjoy viewing the downtown Christmas lights each season. However it's not just the River Walk that is lit up for Christmas. La Villita, King William Historic District, and surrounding areas have beautiful Christmas light displays.

If walking downtown on the River Walk seems tiresome, don't miss out on the Christmas lights. SegCity has a Christmas Light Tour where you ride a Segway around downtown San Antonio to view the lights.

Call (210) 224-0773 for more information and reservations.

We Love Christmas Lights in Schertz

Jeff and Rhonda Womack decorate their home with an elaborate Christmas Light display each year. The lights are on display from Thanksgiving through the first week of January.

The lights turn on each night at 6:15pm and turn off at 10:15pm, except for Christmas Eve when the lights are on until Midnight.

Every year, the Womacks also use this time to give back to the community. This year, they are working with Operation HomeFront to help deployed military members and the families who they have left behind. They are doing this through a food drive and the donation of gift cards. Please help out with a donation if possible.

Note the Womacks are not having a lights up in 2007, as they are moving. They promise to be back with a bigger and better display in 2008
