Guide Review - Alamo Cafe

Alamo Cafe boasts several staples to keep San Antonio customers coming back for more. Hot sauce, queso, and margaritas are the complementary features to their sizzling fajitas and you really can't go wrong if you're experimenting on what to order. Most customers rave about these items.

The dining experience is somewhat relaxed and medium paced. Most of the experienced servers are very efficient in providing service and usually have the entire meal to your table within 10 minutes of ordering.

A few of the entrees such as the carne guisada can appear rather unappetizing. But on the whole, Alamo Cafe provides a nice meal and presentation for most patrons.

In recent years, their beef fajitas have lost some sizzle as the grade of meat has obviously been lowered. Still, if you don't mind chewing a little extra, then the taste isn't bad.

Lastly, with all the free tortillas and chips you can eat, you will definitely leave full when you exit, but your pocket book will not. Alamo Cafe has steadily increased its prices over the last few years and so a visit now doesn't represent the consumer value it had in the past. If you fancy queso and order for two, your bill will easily reach $25 with a 15% tip.
