Cinco de Mayo (5th of May) celebrations commemorate the Mexican Army’s defeat of the invading French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1861.

San Antonio has many Cinco de Mayo events around the city.

  • Cinco de Mayo at Market Square

    This year's festival takes place from May 2-5, 2008. The Cinco de Mayo events at San Antonio's historic Market Square usually draw about 30,000 to 50,000 visitors. Festivities include mariachis, tejano and conjunto groups, folklore dancers, arts & crafts, concerts and lots of great food. Call (210) 207-8600 for more information.
  • Cinco de Mayo at Tower of the Americas

    Admission is free to this wonderful Cinco de Mayo event at the Tower of the Americas.

    Visitors enjoy Mexican food grilled over an open pit and musical entertainment throughout the day. Theme food and bar areas are set up throughout the grounds. For more information, call (210) 223-3101.
