About Fiesta® San Antonio: Fiesta San Antonio is a 10-day festival that takes place in San Antonio each spring. Over 3.5 million people attend the city-wide celebration, which consists of over 100 events.

Proceeds from Fiesta events benefit the San Antonio community in many ways, including preservation, education, research and more.

Fiesta San Antonio runs from April 18-27, 2008.

History of Fiesta® San Antonio: The beginnings of Fiesta started in 1891 when a group of women paraded in front of the Alamo in horse-drawn carriages, pelting each other with flower blossoms. The parade served to honor those who fought in the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto.

This Battle of Flowers® Parade became an annual event in San Antonio and is one of several parades that take place at Fiesta each year.

Fiesta® San Antonio Events: 100 Fiesta events take place each year. These events include parades, carnivals, pageants, sporting events, parties, concerts, galas and much more.

Some of the major Fiesta events include: A Night In Old San Antonio®, (NIOSA), A Taste Of New Orleans, A Taste of the Northside & Fiesta Open, Battle Of Flowers® Band Festival and Parade, Cornyation, Fiesta Arts Fair, Flambeau Night Parade, Incognito: Fiesta’s Masked Ball, King William Fair, St. Mary's University Oyster Bake, Tejano Explosion and Texas Cavaliers River Parade.

Fiesta Transportation and Parking: You should plan ahead for transportation and parking to the Fiesta events. These guidelines will help you get to Fiesta and find parking in the easiest way possible.
The Fiesta Store®: The Fiesta Store is your shopping source for Fiesta San Antonio merchandise, as well as the location to buy tickets for several Fiesta events.
Fiesta® San Antonio Volunteers: The Fiesta® San Antonio Commission is responsible for the planning, promotion and execution of the 10-day festival.

The commission coordinates nearly 100 local non-profit organizations and the 75,000 volunteers that make the celebration happen.
