About Battle of Flowers Parade: The Battle of Flowers Parade takes place each April as part of San Antonio's 10-day, city-wide celebration, Fiesta® San Antonio. The parade attracts more than 350,000 visitors annually.

In 1891 when a group of women paraded in front of the Alamo in horse-drawn carriages, pelting each other with flower blossoms, the Battle of Flowers Parade was born. The parade serves to honor those who fought in the battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto.

To this day, the event is the only parade in the U.S. that is produced entirely by women.

Battle of Flowers Parade Route: The parade begins at the corner of Broadway and Josephine Streets and continues through downtown San Antonio to Martin and Santa Rosa Streets.

Battle of Flowers Vanguard: Local and out-of-area R.O.T.C. units perform drills to entertain the crowd prior to the start of the parade.

The Battle of Flowers Parade consists of beautiful flower-covered floats, costumed revelers, helium-filled balloons, horse-drawn carriages, antique cars, civic leaders, local celebrities and much more.

Battle of Flowers Parade Tickets: The 2008 Battle of Flowers Parade takes place on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 12:45pm. Bleacher seats are $12-$15 each. Tickets for bleacher seating can be purchased in several ways.
