About NIOSA:

NIOSA (pronounced knee-oh-sa) takes place at La Villita Tuesday through Friday, April 22-25, 2008 from 5:30pm to 10:30pm during Fiesta San Antonio. NIOSA attracts more the 100,000 visitors each year.

Who Benefits:

NIOSA is put on by and benefits the San Antonio Conservation Society.

NIOSA Cultural Areas:

La Villita Historical District in downtown San Antonio is divided into fifteen different cultural areas. Visitors enjoy ethnic food, music and costumes of the area's early settlers, while learning about the different heritages.

For example in the "French Quarter" section, you will enjoy jazz music, while in the "Mexican Market" mariachi music fills the air.

There is also a special section for the kids, Clown Alley, with plenty of games and entertainment.

NIOSA La Villita Location:


La Villita is located on the banks of the San Antonio River, boundaried by Alamo Street on the east, Presa Street on the west and Nueva Street on the south.

NIOSA Tickets:

NIOSA tickets are $12 for adults and $2 for children at the gate. You can also purchase tickets for $10 and $1.50 in advance. There are several ways to purchase tickets for NIOSA. You can order tickets in advance online.

On March 1st, NIOSA tickets go on sale at the following locations:

  • H-E-B Grocery Stores
  • Tetco Stores
  • The Fiesta Store (2611 Broadway)
  • Southwest Research
  • USAA
  • Ft. Sam Houston
  • Lackland AFB
  • Randolph AFB
Tickets are also sold at the gate each night of NIOSA. Gates open at 5:30pm.
