Throughout San Antonio and surrounding communities, you can bring your family out to see the Christmas lights at these terrific locations.
1. Windcrest Light Up
Nationally known as one of the best places in the country to see the Christmas lights, Windcrest Light Up has been a tradition in the San Antonio area since the 1950's.
2. Christmas Lights on the River Walk
On the Friday after Thanksgiving over 150,000 people gather at the River Walk for the Holiday River Parade and Lighting Ceremony. Over 120,000 lights stay illuminated through New Year's.
3. Six Flags Fiesta Texas
Holiday In The Park at Fiesta Texas takes place from November 23, 2007 - January 6, 2008. You can see the "Biggest Christmas Tree in Texas," which stands 100 feet tall. Kids can see Santa Claus, the story of the nativity, the choreographed light show, Christmas lights and much more.
4. University of the Incarnate Word
More than a million twinkling lights Light the Way at UIW each year from mid-November through the first week of January. This popular event began in San Antonio in 1985.
5. Santa's Ranch
Located 30 minutes outside San Antonio near New Braunfels, Santa's Ranch boasts a mile long road of displays with over a million Christmas lights. Cost is $17 per car. It's a wonderful destination for families at Christmas time.
6. We Love Christmas Lights in Schertz
Please note: This event is on hiatus for 2007. Jeff and Rhonda Womack decorate their home with an elaborate Christmas light display each year. The lights are on display from Thanksgiving through the first week of January.
7. The Birthplace of a King
From December 13 - 16, 2007 at Trinity Church (5415 N Loop 1604 East @ Judson Road). 50,000 Christmas lights, 90 costumed cast members and seven scenes telling the story of Christmas on elaborate outdoor stages. This drive-thru Christmas story is a must see for everyone in your San Antonio family.
