VIA Metropolitan Transit is San Antonio's public transportation system. Through buses, street cars and van pools, VIA makes getting around San Antonio easy and affordable.

Bus Fares

  • Regular - $1.00
  • Express - $2.00
  • Transfers - $.15

Discounted Rates are available to:

  • Senior citizens
  • Students
  • Children ages 5-11 (4 & under are free)
  • Medicare recipients
  • People with some disabilities
  • Some veterans

You can buy bus passes, tickets and special event tokens at the VIA Online Store.

Bus Schedules

78 VIA bus routes are available in San Antonio. Riders can choose from several levels of service: Frequent Service, Express Service, Metro Service and Skip Service. VIA Bus Schedules are available online and pocket versions can be downloaded for your convenience.

Personal Trip Planner

Use VIA's Personal Trip Planner to make sure that you get to where you are going in plenty of time. This online tool is very helpful in planning your route.

Van Pool Service

Groups of six people or more can share the ride to work and lower their fuel costs by utilizing VIA's Van Pool Service. VIA rents the passenger vans on a month-to-month basis and one member of the vanpool drives and maintains the vehicle in exchange for riding free.
